Regulations

Organizers. Kaunas Chess Federation, Lithuanian University of Agriculture (www.lzuu.lt), Youth chess club "Three zeros" (www.0-0-0.lt).

Venue. Lithuanian University of Agriculture, Studentu 7, Akademija town, Kaunas district (about 10 kilometres form the centre of Kaunas).

Time: 2009 August 22 – 28.

Competition system and regulation. Up to 30 participants are welcomed in the tournament with 10 rounds of the Swiss system. Time control: 1,5 h for 40 moves and 30 minutes to the end + 30 seconds per move for each player.

Entry fee: GM‘s pay no entry fee (additional conditions under agreement). Discounts: IM – 20 percent, FM – 10 percent.

Accommodation, catering. Hotel of the Lithuanian University of Agriculture (three-star, is located three minutes from the playing venue). Price – 35 LTL (about 10 EUR) for person per day. There is a cosy cafe near the playing venue, where it is a possibility to have a delicious dinner for 11-17 LTL (about 3-5 EUR).

Registration. Participants are welcome to register by e-mail or by phone at either Vytautas Vaznonis or Henrikas Asauskas until 2009 08 08.

Prize. The winner of the tournament will be awarded by the Cup of the Lithuanian University of Agriculture. Participants will have the opportunity to achieve GM and IM norms.

Additional information. The games of top four boards would be broadcasted live at the www.0-0-0.ltwebsite. Tournament guests are welcome to request the organizers for excursions across Lithuania. Organizers can meet foreign players at the Kaunas airport, bus or train stations. The competition organizers can make the necessary changes.
